In remarkable condition for its age, this is a very high-grade gun. Do I see a few traces of color remaining? Lucky for us the barrels have been shortened - it is actually quite handy for a big 10. Do you suppose it was a coach gun at one time? The Damascus bores are pretty good, a few speckles but nothing to worry about. *There is a Double Gun Journal article on this gun from sometime in 2021. Stay tuned, I will find it. |

| A beautiful Dickson with great dimensions. I am shooting tomorrow morning and am definitely taking this one to try! Dickson records show this lovely gun left the shop the 4th of February 1885. A very nice forward underlever. This is like the Woodward that I hunt with. I like this opening system very much. It is out of the way and easy to use. This gun is tight and field ready. There are a few light pits in the left barrel where the barrels are very thick and nothing of consequence. *A very nice Holland hammer gun for a great price. |

A well balanced and beautiful example of the famous sidelever Grant. The gun is tight on face and ready to shoot. Left barrel is proofed at 12/1 (starts at .740 to .750) and measures .742 so well in proof. The right barrel is proofed at 12 (.730 to .740) and measures .738.
*Bores are bright but with a small amount of pitting in the right bore towards the muzzle which can't be seen from the breech. *Great very fancy walnut with great dimensions. |

Wiggan & Elliott 12Ga Muzzleloader from England with case and some accessories Hammerguns 12 gauge |

Perhaps someone can help us with dating this one. The serial number suggests 1859-1863, but some sources seem to think the 'Makers to the Royal Family and the Pacha of Egypt' is later. Regardless, this is a beautiful English muzzle loader in shooting condition that is begging to be take afield again. *The case is lovely and includes an authentic nipple wrench, felt wads, and overshot cards, and an oil bottle. Note the dimensions are modern high for rising birds. |

I love when we run across very original un-messed with guns like this and this time in its original makers case. The case is really wonderful with a hand dovetailed lift out tray for the gun to allow ammunition storage underneath. I love it. The shotgun is tight and in super condition. *Despite the unusual name, Masu is a very old and respected name in the London Gun Trade. The barrels are in great condition and will perform well with the RST 2.5" nitro 1 oz. load. |

This is a great entry level hammer double gun with great dimensions for many. It is well balanced and ready for the field. If you've never had a chance to take birds over point with a hammer double gun then you're missing out on a magical moment, and with gun you can make that dream come true. If desired, the left choke can be opened up for $85. If you're like me, I appreciate more birds in the bag which open chokes regularly prove themselves. |

Cogswell & Harrison 16g. Hammer double with BEST hammer pulls. Hammerguns 16 gauge |
6184 13793 |
|
|
A great little upland hammer double with hammer pulls like I like them. Smooth and easy like butter. Cogswell was known before they came out with a cheap line of boxlocks in the early 1900's for very high grade guns. When they flooded the market with cheap boxlocks it ruined their reputation for high grade guns so it was a poor judgment in marketing. Guns like this one, which was built in 1885, were from the period of their high craftsmanship and reputation and this gun shows it. *Great dimensions and handles extremely well. The bores are mirror and the barrels are tight to the action. A rare and field ready hammer double. |

Henry Atkins Hammerguns 410 gauge |

|
|
Henry Atkin is a well-known high-grade London gun maker. 'This example dates from 1889-1890. The action on this converted rook rifle operates smoothly and shoots well. A great petite shotgun with a lovely outside hammer.
Please note, we would be happy to recommend a gunsmith who could convert it back to a rook rifle if desired. Chambered to 38 Special works really well in these! Length of pull can also be adjusted, and we could recommend someone for adding an extension or a leather pad. |

| What a really cool little .410 with an excellent bore. The original caliber was .300 C.F. . Would also be neat put back as a rifle. We can suggest a great gunsmith that can line this back to a center fire rifle of appropriate caliber for around $400.00. We had a client do one in 38 special and that little rifle shot like a house afire and dead on! | |||

The title says it all, but I cannot say enough about how beautiful this rifle is. It is rare we see these in such nice condition as they were often used in terrible environmental conditions of heat, water, high humidity etc. in Africa and India. *The gun is vault tight and has excellent bores and rifling! |

Purdey & Sons Double Rifle in rare small bore 360 BPE ~ from 1884 ~ long chamber, excellent bores Hammerguns Caliber |
6146 11989 |
|
| Bores bright and rifling sharp on this rare little double rifle. Overall excellent condition and from a gun completed in 1884! I know this babu will shoot! The proof lends us to believe the proof is for the 2 9/16" case but with a chamber cast the actual chamber length is 2 7/8" so either the chamber has been lengthened or is an early Purdey prototype. Bit of a mystery but will not prevent one from cutting longer brass that will shoot perfectly in this gun. | |||

L C Smith ~ Baker Patent ~ Drilling in 12g.x12g. over 44/40 Hammerguns Caliber |
6376 NVN |

While there is not a name or a serial number to be found on this drilling the condition is very high and has excellent shotgun bores and the rifle bore is bright with sharp rifling. It locks up tight. This is obviously an LC Smith drilling but must have been what some of us call a "Lunch Bucket" gun. This means that it was built by an LC Smith employee who put it together over time at home from parts from work. *They knew how to build a gun for sure as the craftsmanship is high and features high grade English walnut stock. |

| Good wall thickness (there is some mild pitting in the bores) with shallow rifling in the left barrel. Comes with proper size mold for ball. The rifle bore is .690 and the smooth bore (right) is .703. This would be incredibly fun to hunt with! | |||

Purdey thumb lever from 1872 with new nitro proofs ~ What does "PPP" mean? Hammerguns Other |
5367 8745 |
|
|
A very thin minimum near the muzzle but crazy thick wall thickness forward of the chamber, over 145 thou. explains why this Purdey recently passed nitro proof. *Poorly repaired stock which certainly could only be improved upon. *Project priced Purdey, a PPP! |
