Parker Hammer 10 ga. Grade 2 with solid 32" choked barrels
Hammerguns
10 gauge

This is a solid Grade 2 Parker 10 that with a little restoration could become an outstanding field gun. The barrels are tight on the face and they have super wall thickness. The engraving on the action is sharp and there is still about 30% remaining case colors on the locks. This for a gun built in 1883 is amazing.

The gun has a broken toe of the stock. This could easily be fixed. The Bores do have some light pitting but with back boring those extremely thick walls could be made mirror once more.

With its tight chokes I can see this gun being used for waterfowl but I would love to shoot a turkey with it!

This is a classic hammer side lever which I find extremely ergonomic and easy to use. This gun handles extremely well having that wonderful "aliveness" between the hands.

There is some light pitting in the bores which was present when it was nitro proofed and please note the excellent minimum wall thickness. The bores are bright.

The stock dimensions are very modern and excellent for most. For you tall folks the LOP could be made up to 15 3/8" simply by removing the butt plate and adding a 1" leather covered or English style pad.

*No FFL required so we can ship direct to you at home.

* Note the trigger guard has a well done and strong repair near where it threads into the action. We at vintage doubles want to hide nothing. Remember we are offering during the corona virus free shipping and free return shipping on all of our guns and with a five day inspection (and longer if you need it, we are flexible).

Nitro proofed in 2007 for 2 3/4" this gun has a lot to offer. This gun was built between 1872-83 according to Nigel Browns book. I find bar action underlevers much rarer than back action underlever guns and I am not sure why. This gun is tight on face and field ready.

There is some light pitting in both the bores but was obviously there when the gun was reproofed in 2007 and the bore diameter measures exactly as it did when it was proofed at .724 (18.4mm).

What a beautiful English hammer double. Bar action hammer doubles are getting so much harder to find it was a pleasure to have this one come in the shop.

The smokey french walnut is stunning. The barrel bores are bright and shiny and have excellent wall thickness. The gun locks up vault tight and would be a great candidate for the RST low pressure 2 1/2" shells. Go to www.rstshells.com and check out the great selection. The stock dimensions are very modern and great for most.

J. D. Dougal was quite an individual. He had many innovations in the gunmakers trade while also having a line of pubs and brewery's!

Great dimensions on this entry level hammer double. It is unusual to find a steel barreled hammer double. There is some light pitting in both barrels but absolutely nothing serious with the thick walls. The pitting is more like a light fuzz. This will make a great shooting gun for someone. *I know this is a little short for many but think what it would be with a nice leather covered pad ~ 14 1/2".

Holland & Holland Top Lever Back Action ~ An excellent 16g. Hammer gun for clays or field
Hammerguns
16 gauge

This gun started life as a Paradox but now has been made exclusively a shotgun. For those that are not familiar with the Holland paradox guns they were shotguns that also worked as rifles featuring rifling in the last few inches of the bore. As many found the rifling interfered with perfect shot patterns they would have the rifling removed to make them a better shotgun and that is what has been done with classic Holland 16g.

This Holland features excellent stock dimensions and handles very nicely, feeling lighter than its true weight. This would make an excellent 16g to participate in Vintager events and also work well for upland hunting over pointing dogs.

This is a classic French Lefaucheux action with English nitro proofs. The interesting thing is that it was certainly made in France, Germany, or perhaps Belgium but we can find nothing but the English nitro proofs on the gun. Their is no makers name on the gun.

There is some minor pitting in the bores but nothing really deep. The wall thickness is massive so one could have it back bored to remove the pitting or shoot it the way it is.

This is a very attractive and quality hammer double for this kind of money. I love the elegant hammers!

We are unsure of the maker on this gun as it was re-barreled by Charles Smith of Newark on Trent. Charles Smith is a very old gun making firm. They were at the address on the gun about 1890.

The gun is tight on face and has very nice steel nitro proofed barrels.

Field ready as is but this certainly would be a fun one to upgrade and have it engraved and restocked in fancy wood. We can recommend excellent engravers and stocker's if you would like to have this work done.

I probably don't need to tell you that 28g. English hammer guns are rare as "rocking horse shit" and especially ones with 28" nitro proofed barrels.
