This is a super elegant round action from Scotland with gorgeous nitro proofed Damascus barrels. Stunning Damascus pattern. Did I mention how beautiful these barrels are?

These trigger plate actions remove a large amount of wood from between the action so to strengthen it this gun has had a pin put cross wise across the head of the stock to prevent cracking. It was professionally and elegantly done with horn covers. The butt has a 1" horn extension.

A super price for a sound and beautiful round action.

Great barrels on this droplock. Note the gold washed locks. We can cut the long extension down to any pull you would like shorter to leave a checkered butt. We could also remove the extension and install a best leather pad for a 14" LOP.

If one opened up the right barrel to near cylinder this would make an awesome upland bird gun. We can arrange for this and the cost is only $75.00.

Winchester Model 21 ~ haven't you always wanted one of these? ~
Boxlocks

This gun is tight and field ready. Well, Da! It’s a Model 21! These stout guns were designed and made to last. The IC choke in the left and the cylinder in the right is a great combination for upland birds. It is what I use. It might be great for steel shot also.

When I was in college at WSU and about 20 years old I lusted for one of these which I found in a gunsmiths shop in Pullman Washington. It was about $2000, about six semesters tuition then but a guy could dream. My tastes have changed since then but if your heart yearns for the classic American double gun here is a chance to own one for not much more than I would have had to pay in 1978.

Many in my world have since heard me joke about the best use for a Model 21 being for a boat anchor, or an extra paddle if you lose one... ...but in all seriousness I do respect these guns as I cannot deny they are well made and will digest almost any of the ammunition that can be found on the hardware store shelf. Something I admit many of our English guns cannot do.

This gun was recently rejoined so it is tight on face and field ready.

William Ford is a very respected English gunmaker. Located primarily in Birmingham the business opened about 1884 and ended approximately in 1946 When William passed. Ford was well known for his choke boring (creating choke) and is in several references listed as the inventor of choke boring.

This is a great little boxlock with long barrels that are sound and tight on face. The long length of pull (LOP) is great for the tall hunters but it of course can easily be shortened to fit anyone. This is rather a deluxe grade of boxlock featuring double sears which is considerably more work to build and was done to improve safety. See the photo of the sears with every piece highly polished and fitted. This was all done by hand.

I collect case trade labels and the William Horton case label is one of my absolute favorites. I have one framed and matted on my wall! I will include with this gun a wonderful reproduction of this label.

Manufrance "Ideal" ~ The French Round Action ~This example in very nice original condition

This is a wonderful example of the classic round action from France. Never sold in American most of the examples we have found over the years came back with soldiers after WWI and WWII. This gun was built between the wars in 1922.

The lever below the trigger guard opens and cocks the gun. It is out of the way and extremely ergonomic and better in my opinion than the top lever design.

This Ideal grade features chopper lump barrels and a third bite like Rigby's which rises through the rib extensions. Many of the Manufrance guns had sling swivels hidden in the stock that are self retracting and this gun features that and in 100% working order.

The condition is very good with bright bores when brought to the light looking from the breach. Looking from the muzzle I do see some very light pitting inside both barrels near the muzzles but nothing of consequence. The gun is tight on face and field ready.

The engraving is wonderful both in execution and layout. The wood is sound and in very good condition.

These Webley boxlocks are to me like the Winchester Model 21 of England. Well made and stout with the exception that I believe the Webley is actually better balanced in general. This gun with its tight chokes could be used as is for tight and long shooting but remember if you don't want tight chokes we can have the chokes opened to anything you would want for only $70.00 per barrel.

The 2 3/4" Nitro proofed chambers make this gun very versatile in the USA. The semi beaver tail forend I believe to be added later in the guns life, probably while here in the USA. This addition has obviously been done professionally as it is extremely well done.

Built in the late 1880's this lever cocking boxlock is really quite a beautiful gun. For a gun of this period it has many features such as the Purdey double under bite, an extra bite in the rib extension similar to the Westley Richards patent and also unique cocking indicators. The gun is tight and ready for the field.

While the bores show some light pitting/haze they are basically bright and have tons of wall thickness so this could be removed with a back bore if one wanted mirror bores.

This gun has a fairly short length of pull but could be made to 14 3/8" with a 1" recoil pad.

William Evans boxlock ~ Well used but surprisingly sound and field ready!

Someone carried and loved this gun. The checkering on the forend and the butt has nearly been worn off! When I was first offered this gun I did not at first look think I would want it. I obviously changed my mind as I found the gun tight on face with nice bores. The trigger pulls were good. The wall thickness was great and the barrels still had all their choke. In other words, this gun is ready to go and will give many more years of faithful service! Its like the 20 year old horse we had that went on to live to over thirty! Looks can be deceptive. ? Use the gun as is as a great backup gun or do an easy restoration. It is up to you. Either way this is a great gun for this kind of money.

W.J. Jeffery & Co. ~26 Bury St. St James's St. London ~ A great little 16g. which can't wait to get back in the field where it belongs......

Light with its 28" barrels well below 6 lbs. I have to really love this gun. It is well balanced, tight on face, and field ready.

This little William Jackman Jeffery (got to love that name ~ have a child to name?) is made for the field and I foresee this little lady seeing some action soon in this fall of 2020.

*Note the 2 3/4" chambers and proof!

Manufrance Ideal Grade 2R ~ This is the Classic French Round Action

Built on a unique but 100% trigger plate action this is a gun that I have always been intrigued with. I like everything about them except for the safe which is located to the right and left of the trigger guard. It functions fine but I don't find them as ergonomic as the top safe.

So, despite the safety, I still shoot, promote and get excited about these guns as they are worth having, shooting and appreciating due to their great balanced round action and features. This grade and higher feature a rising bite third fastener similar to the coveted Rigby rising third bite. The pull back lever behind the trigger guard opens the gun and is extremely ergonomic. It is out of the way and very easy to operate.

Manufrance Ideal Grade 2 with nice long barrels and LOP

Very pretty wood (a restock) on this little Ideal with nice long barrels. This grade does not feature the rising bite featured on some higher grade Ideal guns but it does have the classic double under-bite with the true trigger plate action. I see some epoxy bedding material in places where the wood meets the action but this will not in anyway affect performance and allows us to sell this gun at a much reduced price.

There is some light pitting in the bores which could be removed but if it were me I would take this light lady afield just as she is and enjoy her doing what she does best.

This is a nice little 16g.. It is not very often we find an English 16g. with 2 3/4" proofs. The bores have excellent wall thickness and are bright with only the slightest haze in them. This would make a great upland gun.

*If a longer length of pull is needed a pad could be easily added for a LOP up to 14 1/2"
