This Gun is tight and shoots well as is but with a little restoration would be an eye catcher. Very pretty wood but with old finish and handling marks I would give her a new oil finish. Great Damascus pattern but old and mottled so a new browning would look super. The Rib extension has what I would call a reverse bite. This is very unique and effective.

I really like the sidelever right where a right handed persons thumb falls making this gun very easy to open. There is some pitting in the bores but they will clean up as they are not deep and there is a lot of wall thickness on this gun.

What a nice pair of very shootable hammer doubles from this famous maker. They come in a wonderful pair vintage solid oak case. Number 1 gun has British sleeved barrels and number two gun has replacement steel barrels also done in England. The open barrels would be death on quail under most conditions while the other set would be great for just about every other upland bird. Charles Lancaster is one of the London makers that during this period was very well known and respected on the highest level. Quality level of this gun is very high. Interesting gun by a great London maker. Gun could be used as is but really could be made nice with some restoration. The stock appears to have been cut in a few places and then put back together again...nice work but I cannot understand the reasoning. We have priced this low so a person can so some of the work them selves and save money. Bores are fairly clean but a few marks in places but we see nothing deep.

Nice little 28 gauge in un-restored condition.. Bores are bright but there is some minor pitting on the outside of the barrels which could be easily removed in a re-blue. In its makers arched top oak case this gun comes with its rifle and also its shotgun set of barrels. The shotgun bores measure .023 thou min. wall left and .020 right but I must stress this is near the muzzle and tapers quickly into over .030 then progressively thicker from there. I am sure this is original. The gun comes with some accessories including original bullet mold in the French fitted case. The stock has a clean edged crack in the wrist that needs to be repaired properly. We can do that here or you can do it yourself if you have the skill and save. Bullet measure .690. The rifle barrels are smooth bore and measure .745. The mold cast bullets .690. Were they paper patched somehow? I know one of you out there will know as I am certain these two went together.

Fairly solid gun in need of restoration. Barrels have some pitting in the bores but light. I count two fairly major dents that need removing and four or five small dents or dings that need attention. A re-strike and new browning would be in order after this work and then to make her look really good have the checkering picked up and a new oil finish. A very worthy project!

This Henry has a great bore and has been shot with nitro for black so it comes with a target and the load shot with it. I noted a repaired crack between the rear top tang and the right lock that is holding find and hard to see. Checkering and wood finish have been restored. A classic side cock drilling, the best of all drilling designs and near identical to my personal all time favorite go to gun. These guns have a top tang safety as well as a peep sight! This gun came from the family that Grandfather bought the gun when new. The gun is still on face and has excellent shotgun bores. The rifle bore has some minor pitting but the rifling is strong and is very shootable. This wall thickness gauge, complete with table clamping barrel vise, is the most accurate wall thickness gauge that we are aware of for the money (The next more accurate gauge is digital and costs over 2K). This gauge will measure 4 gauge through .410. It may look intimidating to use but let me assure you it is not. The secret and success of this gauge is in that the barrels are easily held suspended by the table clamped barrel vise. The gauge, once zeroed is slid over the barrel and quite easily moved back and forth while one just watches the gauge to read the actual barrel wall thickness. There is no math to do. The ingenious barrel holder allows you to easily rotate the barrels allowing you access to areas of the barrel near the ribs. On the vertical gauge this is quite difficult but on this gauge very easy. This gauge also has the feature of a finer pointed tip on the gauge allowing you to measure inside many pits. I cannot stress the value of having a quality wall thickness gauge if one is a serious collector and purchaser of high end double guns. THE FIRST GUN YOU REFUSE AS A RESULT OF USING THIS GAUGE PAYS FOR THE GAUGE MANY TIMES OVER. If you do not understand the significance of the last sentence, please reread it. This is by a famous artist and it shows! Allan Brooks was a naturalist and artist who illustrated many books in the early part of the twentieth century. He lived in a cabin on Okanagan Lake in British Columbia, studying and painting birds. I really like the sidelever right where a right handed persons thumb falls making this gun very easy to open. There is some pitting in the bores but they will clean up as they are not deep and there is a lot of wall thickness on this gun.

A basically sound Greener. I detect it is just ever so slightly off face. I see a small crack that stops after 1/2" starting at the top tang point. This would make a good little project of the do it your self person and at a good price.

Interesting gun by a great London maker. Gun could be used as is but really could be made nice with some restoration. The stock appears to have been cut in a few places and then put back together again...nice work but I cannot understand the reasoning. We have priced this low so a person can so some of the work them selves and save money. Bores are fairly clean but a few marks in places but we see nothing deep.

This gun is in proof with bores that measure .720 proofed at 13. Gun needs tightening before being shot. Barrels appear solid but some pitting in the bores, blue almost gone, and several small dings, Wood has a coat of heavy varnish that I would strip and put a natural oil finish on. An easy project.

In its makers arched top oak case this gun comes with its rifle and also its shotgun set of barrels. The shotgun bores measure .023 thou min. wall left and .020 right but I must stress this is near the muzzle and tapers quickly into over .030 then progressively thicker from there. I am sure this is original. The gun comes with some accessories including original bullet mold in the French fitted case. The stock has a clean edged crack in the wrist that needs to be repaired properly. We can do that here or you can do it yourself if you have the skill and save. Bullet measure .690. The rifle barrels are smooth bore and measure .745. The mold cast bullets .690. Were they paper patched somehow? I know one of you out there will know as I am certain these two went together.

A true left handed gun which is extremely rare. This means the gun is not only cast on but the triggers are bent for the pull of the left finger contour and the top lever works to the left! Pate is an outstanding English maker.

We have never had in the shop a gun built expressly for a left handed shooter and in one blow (from one person) we get two. We have had guns cast for left handed shooting many times but these guns the safety is on the opposite side we are used too and the top lever swings the other way! Cased in a canvas covered hard case with correct label and oil bottle, cleaning rod, and snap caps. This gun for well over 100 years old is in excellent condition.

This is what is called a "cross eyed" stocked gun as it is designed to fit the right shoulder but cross over to line up with the left eye. Left eye dominate or people with right eye impairments would be perfect candidates for this gun.
